Chrooma keyboards snags 3.0 update, gestures, Google Now integration

Chrooma is a keyboard that takes a lot of its cues from the default Google keyboard, but just because it’s a fairly simplistic little tool doesn’t mean that new features aren’t in the cards for it. This lightweight Android keyboard already gives you a slew of customization options, but now we’re seeing some new perks arrive. Version 3.0 is out, and now we’re getting a formal look at some of the details we got a sneak peek at in thebeta. This includes keyboard gestures and Google Now integration.
Much of what we’re witnessing as part of the Chrooma 3.0 version rides on the coattails of the Google Keyboard 5.0 update. Slickest among these is probably the ability to use the spacebar as a kind of track pad, allowing you to move the cursor with just a swipe of your fingertip. This is also great for when you’re using your phone with one hand and need to make nuanced edits to your texting.
Chrooma wasn’t satisfied just mirroring all of Google Keyboard’s improvements, however. They also have installed a few of their own, including an Action Row that we witnessed in the beta. Also new to the table is Google Now integration, which is fairly straightforward. If you have content typed into the keyboard and swipe up on the spacebar, Chrooma will run a Google search of the term. Pretty handy. As icing on the cake, we’re also seeing some new keyboard style options with borders.
